Accuracy assessment: 1 polygon interpreted as SCL on aerial photographs was field checked.  It was revised to SCA.

SCL and SLC wetlands are dominated by bluejoint grass (Calamagrostis canadensis) and Lutz spruce (Picea X lutzii) components.  When bluejoint grass is in the understory of a Lutz spruce woodland or forest the unit is named SL.  To be named SCL a segregated mosaic of spruce and bluejoint is present at a scale too fine to map each component separately at 1:25,000.  SCL is used where bluejoint openings dominate, and SLC where Lutz spruce dominates.  These names have been applied to only a few units so far, on the coastal bluff near Corea Creek, south of Clam Gulch, and around the City of Homer.

In Homer, the names SCLd and SLCd refer to wetlands that were either SCL or SLC but are now disturbed.
