NWI: PEM1Bg

HGM: Terrene Basin groundwater-dominated Throughflow headwater.  If not adjacent to a Late Snow Plateau Ecosystem wetland, then: Terrene Basin Outflow headwater.

Accuracy assessment: 7 polygons interpreted as H2 on aerial photographs were field checked.  4 remained H2; 1 each was revised to H23, H3 and H32.

The H2 map component is a fen with a shallow water table, frequently dominated by sedges, in a headwater basin.  These units have a water table at or very near the surface for the entire growing season.  This is a common map component of Headwater Fens and is often found in a mixed complex with the most common, often shrub-dominated, H3 component.  This component is common as a ribbed fen dominated by tufted bulrush (Tricophorum caespitosum).
